Heidi Freyer Craig
Owner

"Teaching is a part of me like the air I breathe.”

Heidi was born and raised in Wilton, CT, and started dancing at the age of three. She received her early training from her mother, Linda Freyer, owner of the Freyer Academy of Ballet in Wilton, and went on to receive her BA in Dance at SUNY. Heidi earned her Independent Study Certificate at The Alvin Ailey American Dance School in NYC, as well as a certification with the prestigious American Ballet Theater’s National Teacher training program. While dancing and performing in New York, Heidi pursued her Pilates certification through Power Pilates. In addition to teaching classical ballet and modern dance she has taught Pilates extensively throughout Fairfield and Westchester Counties as well as in the Hudson Valley. To round out her skills she has received additional certifications in Barre fitness, including one from the well-known Exhale. She is currently co-owner of Freyer Academy of Ballet and is thrilled to be co-founding CORE PILATES BARRE in its first Hopewell Junction studio.

Michelle Pantaleo Nolen

“Change happens through movement and movement heals.”

Michelle was born and raised in the Hudson Valley. In her twenties she became an avid runner, which led to cycling and a passion for racing, all of which came to a sudden halt when she was diagnosed with hip dysplasia. Michelle turned to Pilates, using it as a way to stay in shape as she navigated the path forward. Her newfound love of Pilates led to certification from Beacon Pilates in 2015 and a total change of mind/body/life. Michelle’s work as an instructor includes the popular start-up, “Pilates in the Park with Michelle,” and embraces all types of students. She also teaches Criminal Justice at Marist College and is an Investigator working with national security. Michelle lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband and two Schnauzers. Moxie, her mini Schnauzer, has become a studio guest fav to pop up in Pilates classes!

Jean DeVoe

“Yoga helps you uncover the most authentic version of yourself and gives you calm and presence to share that true self with the world.”

Jean DeVoe came to yoga years ago as a mom of three in need of a peaceful space. Through the quiet practice of yoga, she found many tools for bringing authenticity and self-renewal to her life. Yoga has been so integral to her well-being, that she completed her 200-hour teacher training certification at Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga. After years of studying Ashtanga yoga, Jean found power yoga and currently practices at Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga. Jean has a dance and choreography background, with a B.A. in Dance and English from Hofstra University, that contributes to her knowledge of anatomy and integrity of movement. Jean spent years working in the non-profit sector, both as a dance instructor for children of various ages and abilities, and as a Development Director overseeing all aspects of fundraising. She currently teaches dance in Wilton, CT. Jean enjoys teaching a process oriented, multi-level power yoga class, with a focus on compassion, mindfulness, and self-appreciation.

Brooke Gutierrez

“Yoga has brought a joy of spirit, soundness of body and strength of mind to my life that is immeasurable. I teach to share those gifts with my community.”

In 2011 Brooke began her first steps in her journey as a yoga student. She holds it to be the primary vehicle for the growth and community in her life.

Brooke believes that being a dedicated yoga student supports and nourishes her teaching. With her personal education and practice being paramount, she has completed 200 hr YTT, a 300 hr YTT, and a 100 hr Singing Bowl Training with Dutchess Yoga Studio. She has been honored to share yoga with her community as an Instructor since 2015. In addition to yoga posture Brooke's teaching approach emphasizes the importance of maintaining the mind, spirit, body connection. She infuses the tradition of her Hatha Yoga training into her classes. She is passionate about creating an environment that is intentional, spiritually minded, emotionally informed, and empowering for the practitioner.

Allie Kilroy

“The body achieves what the mind believes.”

Allison was born and raised in the Hudson Valley. She started dancing at the age of three and danced competitively in various styles. Allison continued through college and choreographed for her college dance team. In 2014, she became Zumba certified. Recently, she completed her Barre certification through Core Barre Fit. She continues to teach dance and Zumba in Stormville, and is looking forward to teaching cardio dance and barre and Core Pilates Barre.

Dena Marro

“Exercise not only changes your body, it changes your mind, mood and attitude!”

Dena has been teaching special education for 19 years. She has also been teaching dance at a local dance studio for over 20 years. Her passion has always been modern dance where she studied, modern, abroad in Italy. Dena completed her barre certification through Corebarrefit (barre exercise intensive). She also completed her children's yoga certification and 200 hrs of yoga through YogaRenew.Dena enjoys staying active by road cycling, mountain biking, hiking,dancing or working out at the studio!

Lauren Messina

“Strength comes first from within. We can become our best versions of ourselves through dedication, inspiration, and motivation.”

A Connecticut Resident. Lauren Messina, can be found most days running around with her daughters, dogs, and husband. As a hospice nurse and a Nurse Practitioner graduate student, her days are spent focusing on health and wellness. Lauren was certified in Barre through “BarSculpt” in March 2020 and in Bodhi (TRX) at the Pilates Barre in Ridgefield, CT. She is also certified in Pilates Mat 1, 2, 3 in 2022 through the intensive Balanced Body program. Teaching Barre and Pilates complements not only her love of helping people feel stronger but also focusing her classes on being a fun outlet for day to day stressors!

Alexandra Tse

“I love to welcome my students not only in the space, but in their bodies-our first and forever home.”

Alex Tse is a Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki II practitioner and movement instructor. Born, raised and currently based in the Hudson Valley, she spent the past 10 years living and learning in NYC. Alex spent that time working in education, as a Spanish language interpreter, and in off-Broadway theater, before making the transition into wellness. She incorporates Traditional Chinese Medicine with her knowledge of Western science, along with her studies of Ayurveda, Herbalism, and Aromatherapy. She teaches Pilates and various styles of Yoga such as Vinyasa, Hatha, Restorative, Yin, Prenatal and Katonah. Alex’s background is in dance, martial arts, music, and theater, which is where she draws much of her inspiration from.

Rebekah Tse

“Moving your body is a form of self-care. It’s not selfish, it’s essential”

Rebekah was born and raised in the Hudson Valley. She studied communications at Cedar Crest College. Rebekah has always been passionate about health and wellness. It wasn't until college, where she developed a true passion for Barre and has always dreamt of becoming a Barre teacher. She recieved her certification from Forme Barre Fitness and has continued her training with Core Pilates Barre. Rebekah is excited to join the Core Pilates Barre team.
